I am Cameron Kilton, a highly experienced telecommunications professional currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Nextlink. With a remarkable career spanning over two decades, I bring my expertise to the design, construction, and operation of wireless broadband, cellular, AMI, and fiber-optic network systems.
Recognized as a prominent figure in the WISP community, I am a dedicated advocate for customers and have been actively involved in the industry for nearly 20 years. My in-depth knowledge and passion for engineering, construction, and management enable me to effectively oversee large-scale wireless and fiber deployments at the local, state, and federal levels.
Before joining Nextlink, I held the position of Senior Consultant at Tilson Technology Management. In this role, I demonstrated strong leadership by supervising the deployment and management of electric utility smart grid networks that served more than one million smart meters across the United States.
Prior to my consultancy work, I served as the Broadband Director and Project Manager for Midcoast Internet, Maine’s pioneering wireless broadband Internet provider. During my tenure, I played a pivotal role in maintaining and expanding the company’s broadband network. I spearheaded the addition of new wireless and fiber-optic systems, thereby expanding service areas and coverage.
